Values Based Practice Collaborative
St Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford host the VBP collaborative, the website and materials to support the development of Values Based Practice in health and social care. We work collaboratively with Professor Bill Fulford from the University of Oxford in sharing and developing resources in the exciting area of practice development. They have considerable expertise in consultation and involvement, ensuring that all voices are heard and represented effectively. We have worked with Cernis in developing the Essential Capabilities for children and young people and they have been an active supporter of our Masters in Clinical Research (MClinRes).
Hafal (which means ‘Equal’ in Welsh) are Wales’ leading charity for people with serious mental illness and their carers. They are represented in all areas of Wales, Hafal is an organisation managed by the people they support: individuals whose lives have been affected by serious mental illness. We have worked closely with Hafal in developing the training resources for the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
Unllais is a development, information and training agency. Unllais provide support to the voluntary sector, service users and carer organisations working in the field of mental health in North Wales. We have worked very closely with Unllais in aiding the development of learning resources to support the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
Our colleagues at the NHS Education for Scotland have been great supporters and developers of the original Ten Essential Shared Capabilities for Mental Health. They have developed a Scottish version which supports the legislative and policy context in Scotland. They have also extended the work of values based practice to cover all areas of health care in Scotland. CME in the community is a social enterprise specialising in care and support for children and young people with mental health problems. We have worked collaboratively with the members of CMECIC over many years in helping develop learning resources with young people for the benefit of services.
